SuperLawyers 2015 Recognizes Litigation Department Chair as Top 10 Lawyer in CT

New Haven – Wiggin and Dana is pleased to announce that Litigation Department Chair, Jim Glasser, has been recognized by SuperLawyers Magazine as a Top 10 Lawyer in Connecticut.

Jim is the Chair of Wiggin and Dana's 70 person Litigation Department. He represents corporations and individuals in civil litigation and when they are the subjects of investigation and prosecution by federal and state regulatory authorities. He regularly conducts internal investigations and counsels clients in the defense industry on compliance with international trade laws. Jim is also an accomplished appellate lawyer, having briefed and argued more than 48 cases in the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

Jim has had a distinguished career in public service, in private practice and in service to the Bar and the community. He began his legal career at the New York City law firm of Mudge Rose Guthrie Alexander & Ferdon and then was a federal prosecutor for 19 years in the Connecticut U.S. Attorney's Office where he held senior positions, including Chief of Appeals, Chief of the Criminal Division, and Counsel to the U.S. Attorney. Jim received the Department of Justice Director's Award and Connecticut's coveted "Standing-Tall" Award for his penchant to take on difficult investigations and prosecutions. Immediately after September 11, 2001, he was appointed to head Connecticut's Anti-Terrorism Task Force and was later appointed to the U.S. Attorney General's Criminal Chiefs Advisory Committee.

Jim serves on the Committee on Admissions and Grievances for the Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and is the Chair of the Federal Grievance Committee for the District of Connecticut. He is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and teaches trial practice at Yale Law School. He serves on the Editorial Board of the Federal Bar Council Quarterly, the Criminal Procedure Committee of the Federal Bar Council and the Advisory Board of Connecticut's Juvenile Training School and the Regional Board of the Anti-Defamation League.
