Wiggin and Dana Announces 2025 Partner Elevations

Wiggin and Dana is pleased to announce the elevation of Laura Ann Froning, Sean Koehler and David Norman-Schiff to partner, effective January 1, 2025.

Froning represents hospitals and health care providers in cases alleging professional negligence, with a focus on defending claims of wrongful death, birth trauma, and catastrophic injuries.ย  Her practice frequently involves obstetrical and neonatology claims, and she works with her healthcare provider clients to find answers in this complicated and emotionally driven area of medicine.ย  Froning also handles marine insurance coverage disputes, with an emphasis on yacht and liability coverages. As a member of the firmโ€™s Litigation Department, she has represented both individuals and corporations in bench trials, jury trials, administrative hearings, and arbitrations.ย  Froning received her J.D., with honors, from the University of Connecticut School of Law and her bachelorโ€™s degree from Boston College.

Koehler advises clients on U.S. export controls and U.S. economic sanctions as a member of the firmโ€™s Litigation Department and International Trade Compliance Practice Group. Clients rely on him to conduct internal investigations and prepare voluntary self-disclosures to the U.S. Departments of State, Commerce, and Treasury, navigate consent agreements and national security agreements with the U.S. government, perform complex jurisdiction and classification determinations and draft commodity jurisdiction determination requests, and develop enterprise-wide compliance programs and targeted corrective actions. Koehler received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Fordham University School of Law, his masterโ€™s degree from Columbia University in quantitative methods, and his bachelorโ€™s degree from Cornell University.

Norman-Schiff, a member of the firm’s Litigation Department, focuses on complex civil litigation. He defends clients in product liability cases involving a wide range of products, including pharmaceuticals and medical devices. He also helps clients navigate high-stakes business disputes, unfair and deceptive trade/competition claims, securities fraud litigation, and franchise and distributor-related matters.ย  Norman-Schiff received his J.D., summa cum laude, from Quinnipiac University School of Law and his bachelorโ€™s degree, magna cum laude, from Wagner College.
