Wiggin and Dana Announces New Partners Frank Marco and Paul Hughes, Associate Jane Harrison and Paralegal Kathleen Ellison

Wiggin and Dana announces the expansion of its Business Practice Department with the addition of: partners Frank J. Marco and Paul A. Hughes, associate Jane C. Harrison, and paralegal Kathleen Ellison.  The group will be resident in the firm’s New Haven office, and Mr. Marco will head the firm’s Entrepreneurs and Emerging Companies Practice Group.

Perrone, Chair of the Business Practice Department.  “Their arrival brings together the two leading venture capital and emerging company practices in Connecticut.” The attorneys join Wiggin and Dana from the New Haven office of a Boston-based law firm.
 
Frank Marco has over 30 years experience representing venture capital investors and emerging growth companies in capital formation, mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, joint ventures, strategic alliances, licensing, research and development, and related matters.  In honoring Mr. Marco with its "Distinguished Service Award," Connecticut Innovations, Inc. described him as "a driving force in the growth of high technology in Connecticut."  He is a Director and past Chairman of the Connecticut Venture Group and a founder of the central Connecticut chapter. He was a co-founder of the Connecticut Technology Council, is a member of the Connecticut Software Cluster Advisory Board, the Operating Committee of Connecticut United for Research Excellence and is a co-founder of the MIT Enterprise Forum of Connecticut. He was Chairman of "Crossroads," a regional venture fair for 2001 and 2002 and is a member of its Steering Committee. He is a member of the Technology Transfer Advisory Board of The Governor's Council on Economic Competitiveness.  Mr. Marco is a graduate of St. Lawrence University and received his J.D. cum laude from Fordham Law School, where he was an editor of the Fordham Law Review.

Paul Hughes is experienced with the representation and operation of emerging growth companies, including those involved in information technology, the Internet, telecommunications, biotechnology, health care services, and outsourcing.  He advises companies in the areas of capital formation, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic alliances, and corporate governance. Mr. Hughes is a member of the Board of Directors of the MIT Enterprise Forum of Connecticut and the Connecticut Venture Group.  Mr. Hughes earned his B.A. from the University of Connecticut, and his J.D., with honors, from the University of Connecticut School of Law, where he served as an Articles Editor of the Connecticut Law Review.  Following graduation, he was a law clerk to Justice Fleming L. Norcott, Jr. of the Connecticut Supreme Court.
 
Jane Harrison counsels venture capital investors and emerging growth companies in all stages of development, with a focus on venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic alliances.  Ms. Harrison earned her B.A. cum laude from the College of the Holy Cross.  She received her J.D., with honors, from the University of Connecticut School of Law, where she served as the managing editor of the Connecticut Journal of International Law.
