Wiggin and Dana Appellate Lawyer Receives National Honor

February 5, 2009

Wiggin and Dana is pleased to announce that Jeffrey R. Babbin, a litigation partner in its Appellate Practice Group, has become a fellow of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers.  Mr. Babbin is the seventh member (and only the fifth in private practice) to be invited from Connecticut.  He was inducted at the Academy's meeting in Portland, Oregon.

The Academy is a professional association of the most accomplished appellate lawyers in the nation, from both the private and public sectors, with nearly 300 members nationally.  Membership is by invitation only, requiring nomination by a current member, followed by a thorough and confidential investigation of the candidate's merit and accomplishments.  A candidate's practice must have been substantially focused on appellate practice for at least 15 years, and only lawyers with a recognized reputation for the highest integrity and excellence in appellate work are invited to become fellows of the Academy.

The American Academy of Appellate Lawyers was founded in 1990 to recognize outstanding appellate lawyers and promote the improvement of appellate advocacy and the administration of the appellate courts.
