April 20, 2015

Wiggin and Dana attorneys David Hall and Ivana Greco co-authored chapter two of The Legal Guide for Museum Professionals.

This new book aims to answer and provide guidance on a myriad of legal concerns facing nonprofit cultural organizations, including intellectual property issues; social media; deaccessioning concerns to governance law; copyright, rights and reproduction questions; and issues of public domain and public trust. David and Ivana's chapter, titled "Stolen Cultural Property: A Risk Management Primer," addresses the risks associated with acquiring fine art and antiquities and suggests strategies for due diligence and possible responses when due diligence fails.

David is a partner in Wiggin and Dana's Litigation Department. He represents corporations and individuals in complex civil litigation and in investigations and prosecutions conducted by the Department of Justice, the Commerce Department, the State Department, the Treasury Department, and other federal and state agencies. Ivana is an associate in the firm's Litigation Department.
