September 9, 2009

On Monday, September 14 to Friday, September 18, in honor of the firm's 75th anniversary, Wiggin and Dana will be dedicating a week of planned activities in all offices for the firm's Week of Giving.

"Wiggin and Dana has a long tradition of giving back to the community through the generosity and volunteer efforts of our individual lawyers and staff," comments Maureen Weaver, Chair of firm's Executive Committee. "We are excited about dedicating an entire week to giving in all of our offices and look to make a difference in lives of those who are in need."

This Week of Giving will include planned volunteer activities in New Haven and drives in Hartford, Stamford, New York and Philadelphia.

Attorneys and staff members from the New Haven office will be volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House. In addition, working with the United Way of Greater New Haven, the firm has coordinated volunteer activities at ALSO-Cornerstone, Inc., Loaves & Fishes, Centro San Jose, Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen, and the Community Soup Kitchen.

"Since our first communication to the firm about the week of giving, we have received a tremendous response from our attorneys and staff," comments Weaver. "We are thrilled that everyone is engaged and participating in such a wonderful week, that means so much to individuals in our communities, while at the same time carrying out a firm tradition of giving back."

The Hartford office will be holding a drive to collect school supplies for students in need for Covenant to Care; Stamford will be collecting non-perishable food items for the Connecticut Food Bank and the New York and Philadelphia offices will be collecting children's books for local children's hospitals.
