Wiggin and Dana Partner Appointed Chair of the CBA's Antitrust and Trade Regulation Section
Fourth Firm Partner to Serve as Chair
New Haven - Effective September 1, 2011, Wiggin and Dana Litigation Partner Erika L. Amarante became Chair of the Connecticut Bar Association's Antitrust and Trade Regulation Section.
In this role Erika will be responsible for organizing presentations on antitrust and consumer protection matters and keeping members apprised of significant developments in the law. Past Section events have included distinguished speakers from state and federal antitrust agencies.
Erika is the fourth Wiggin and Dana partner to serve as the Chair of the CBA's Antitrust and Trade Regulation Section, joining Robert M. Langer, former partner, Linda L. Randell and the late William G. Millman, Jr. as past Chairs of the Section.
Erika was also recently appointed Chair of the Distribution & Franchising Committee of the ABA's Section of Antitrust Law. The Distribution & Franchising Committee sponsors teleseminars and other programming on antitrust and franchising, book publications including the forthcoming new edition of the Franchise and Dealer Termination Handbook, and a regular newsletter called Distribution.
A partner in Wiggin and Dana's Litigation Department, Erika's practice includes trial litigation in federal and state courts and arbitrations, focusing on franchise and distribution law, antitrust counseling and litigation, environmental disputes, medical malpractice and other complex civil and commercial litigation. Erika has extensive experience in state and federal trial courts and before arbitrators and mediators in a variety of forums and states.
