Wiggin and Dana Partner, David Hall's, new book "CRACK99" Highlighted in Connecticut Law Tribune Article
Wiggin and Dana Litigation Partner, David Hall, released a new book entitled, CRACK99: The Takedown of a $100 Million Chinese Software Pirate, published by W.W. Norton & Company, Inc. on October 19th. David was recently interviewed by the Connecticut Law Tribune (CLT) to discuss his pursuit of this international software pirate. The CLT details David's experiences and provides insight into the operation.
The book is a gripping narrative of David's experience as a member of the elite undercover team that captured Xiang Li, creator of Crack99, an online retail site selling high-tech software products used largely by the military. It presents an eye-opening look at cybercrime and its chilling consequences for national security.
In 2013, Mr. Hall retired from the United States Department of Justice after a distinguished 23-year career as an Assistant United States Attorney. While in federal service, Mr. Hall received the Director's Award for Superior Performance, numerous Special Act Awards, and other awards and commendations from government agencies, including the FBI, CIA, DEA, and ATF.
