New Haven – Wiggin and Dana is pleased to announce that Litigation Department Chair Jim Glasser and White Collar Defense, Investigations and Corporate Compliance Group Chair Joseph Martini have been awarded the Department of Defense's Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Patriot Award. The award reflects the efforts made to support Citizen Warriors through a wide-range of measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families and granting leaves of absence if needed. Michael McGinley, an associate in the Litigation Department and an active reservist at United States Cyber Command, where he holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, nominated both Jim and Joe for this prestigious award.

"It is fitting that Jim Glasser and Joe Martini would be chosen to receive this award in support of a Wiggin and Dana employee who also serves as a reservist" comments Paul Hughes, Wiggin and Dana's Managing Partner. "Jim and Joe often contribute to the growth of our employees, not just through professional mentoring, but by supporting and recognizing the value of employment and military service of employees who are members of the U.S. National Guard and Reserve. We congratulate Jim and Joe on this heartfelt recognition."

ESGR, a Department of Defense office, was established in 1972 to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component Service members and their civilian employers and to assist in the resolution of conflicts arising from an employee's military commitment. ESGR has served our country for more than 40 years, fostering a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States. These citizen warriors could not defend and protect us at home and abroad without the continued promise of meaningful civilian employment for themselves and their families. The Patriot Award was presented to Jim and Joe at a recognition ceremony today at the Wiggin and Dana office in New Haven.
