Wiggin and Dana Receives Litigation Department of the Year Award for Appellate Practice
New Haven - Wiggin and Dana is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the Connecticut Law Tribune's Litigation Department of the Year Award for Appellate Practice.
"For years our Appellate practice has earned the trust of clients for high-stakes appeals nationwide," comments Jonathan Freiman, Chair of the firm's Appellate and Complex Issues Practice Group. "We are happy to be recognized for the successful work we have done for our clients in the past year."
In 2012 alone, attorneys in Wiggin and Dana's Appellate and Complex Legal Issues Practice Group handled federal appeals in the Second, Ninth and D.C. Circuits and state appeals in California, Connecticut, Florida, Iowa, and New York.
In announcing the award, the Connecticut Law Tribune noted the success that the Wiggin and Dana practice group had achieved in appeals covering a wide range of substantive areas, from multi-million dollar reductions in medical malpractice awards to success in a congressional redistricting appeal.
In recognition of its success in the past year, Wiggin and Dana was presented with this honor at a formal ceremony on May 30, 2013, at The Bond Ballroom in Hartford, Connecticut. After Attorney General George Jepsen offered the keynote speech, Mr. Freiman accepted the award on behalf of the firm, praising his appellate colleagues as fellow journeyers on the "path to justice."
