Wiggin and Dana Signs the ABA Well-Being Pledge
As part of its commitment to the well-being of its workforce, Wiggin and Dana has signed the American Bar Association Well-Being Pledge Campaign. Sponsored by the ABA Working Group to Advance Well-Being in the Legal Profession, the Pledge aims to raise awareness of substance use disorders and mental health issues in the legal profession and seeks to reduce their incidence.
By signing the Pledge, Wiggin and Dana joins forces with over 200 other law firms, legal employers, and law schools committed to adopting and prioritizing the Pledge’s framework for building a healthier future for the legal profession. The Firm will, among other initiatives, provide firmwide education, resources, and support related to well-being, mental health, and substance abuse disorders, and provide attorneys and staff with confidential access to addiction and mental health experts and resources.
“The legal profession is facing challenging times,” said Tim Diemand, Wiggin and Dana’s Managing Partner. “The coronavirus pandemic, the steady pace of hot-button social issues, and the nature of legal work impact our lives, health, work, families, and communities in countless ways. The Pledge points the way forward for legal employers like Wiggin and Dana, who aim to move the needle by improving health and wellness at their firms and in the broader profession. We recognize physical, mental, and emotional well-being as core organization values, and we are proud to be among those who declare that we can do more and to take concrete action.”
