Zeynep is an Associate in Wiggin and Danaโs Litigation Department and a member of the firmโs International Trade Compliance (ITC), Antitrust, and White Collar Practice Groups.
As an ITC associate, Zeynep has provided clients with export jurisdiction and classification analyses (including for software and encryption); advised on U.S. Anti-Boycott and Foreign Agents Registration Act regulations; conducted in-depth sanctions screening and due diligence reviews; and drafted export license applications. Zeynep has experience in leading internal investigations of alleged violations of the ITAR, EAR and OFAC regulations and preparing voluntary self-disclosures. She has assisted with the defense of a company and its principals, who were alleged to have committed criminal export violations but later received a formal declination letter from the Department of Justiceโs National Security Division.
Zeynep has supported litigation matters involving some of the worldโs largest tech companies in antitrust cases. She was part of the core trial team representing Epic Games that secured a jury verdict against Google. She has also supported the criminal defense of crypto currency companies and individuals alleged to have violated SEC regulations and federal criminal laws.
Prior to joining Wiggin and Dana, Zeynep interned at Raytheon Technologies Corporate Headquarters (f/k/a United Technologies), where she focused on data privacy and security compliance. She earned her Juris Doctorate from University of Connecticut School of Law, where Zeynep was the Lead Articles Editor of the Connecticut Journal of International Law. She served as the secretary of the Diversity Committee, co-founded the Middle Eastern Law Students Association, participated in competitions as part of the Negotiation and Dispute Resolution Society, and completed a law school course focused on international trade compliance.
A native of Istanbul, Turkey, Zeynep first came to the U.S. to pursue higher education at Quinnipiac University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a minor in Media Studies.
