Partner Najia Khalid Interviewed by HRD on the Effect of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services’ Fee Increase Proposal

On January 26, 2023, Partner Najia Khalid was quoted in the Human Resources Director article titled, “Employment-based visa fee raises will hurt startups, schools, small businesses.” The article discusses the trickle-down effect of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services’ proposal to significantly increase fees for employment-based visas. Najia explains, “When you’re a startup, small company or school, it impacts your ability to find the talent you need in an already difficult environment. You don’t want to be spending more money on the visa than you would pay the worker, even if the position requires a certain skillset and is critical for the institution to function.”
