Women's Business Development Council Legal Topics Seminar

As part of an initiative facilitated by Wiggin and Dana attorney, Patti Melick, attorneys Najia Khalid, Ellen Feeney, Amy Drais, Monica Kolinsky and Caroline Park, volunteered to present a legal topics seminar for the Women's Business Development Council (WBDC). The event was in collaboration with the Council of Churches and held in Bridgeport on Tuesday, August 7th. An overview of corporate (entity formation), tax, IP, employment, and immigration law was provided to a group of entrepreneurs.

The WBDC mission is "to support economic prosperity for women and strengthen communities through entrepreneurial and financial education services that create and grow sustainable jobs and businesses across Connecticut." Founded in 1997 as a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization, the WBDC works with entrepreneurs who are starting or growing a business or trying to increase business income.
