June 6, 2017

Hartford - Wiggin and Dana Partner, Robert M. Langer, with significant contribution from Senior Litigation Associate, Benjamin Diessel, helped to secure the dismissal of Connecticut Fine Wine and Spirits d/b/a Total Wine and More's lawsuit on behalf of an intervening defendant, Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of Connecticut. Total Wine claimed that certain CT liquor pricing laws were unconstitutional because they were preempted by the federal antitrust laws.

Mr. Langer is the co-chair of Wiggin and Dana's Antitrust and Consumer Protection Practice Group. He previously served as Connecticut's Assistant Attorney General in charge of the antitrust and consumer protection and has taught antitrust and constitutional law for almost four decades.

As reported by Bloomberg BNA, Mr. Langer is quoted as saying "We're pleased that Judge Hall dismissed the lawsuit." To read the full article, please click here or to view the decision, please click here.
