January 22, 2004
Robert M. Langer, Chair of Wiggin and Dana's Antitrust & Trade Regulation Practice Group, has just completed a treatise entitled "Unfair Trade Practices." The treatise of almost 1000 pages and over 3000 cases, is a comprehensive analysis of Connecticut principal consumer protection and business litigation law, the Connecticut Unfair Trade Practices Act, "CUTPA," published by Thomson West as Volume 12 of its Connecticut Practice series. The treatise, co-authored by Professor John T. Morgan and Attorney David L. Belt, is a complete revision of an earlier treatise first published in 1994 by the Connecticut Law Tribune. Mr. Langer played a central in the drafting of many key amendments to CUTPA since its enactment in 1973, and has participated in many seminal Connecticut Supreme Court cases interpreting CUTPA.
