Wiggin and Dana Partner Speaks to the United States Council on International Business
Wiggin and Dana Partner Robert Langer spoke to the United States Council on International Business (USCIB) in Washington, D.C. on September 28.
Mr. Langer discussed responsible business conduct along with fellow panelists Donald Baker and Michael Bloom. Mr. Baker, of Baker & Miller, is a former Assistant Attorney General in charge of the Antitrust Division at the U.S. Department of Justice. Mr. Bloom is the Deputy Director of the Bureau of Competition at the Federal Trade Commission.
The panel was moderated by Ariel Meyerstein, vice president of USCIB.
During the panel discussion, Mr. Langer spoke about the favorable Business Review Letter that Wiggin and Dana obtained on behalf of the Fair Factories Clearinghouse from the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division in 2006. The letter authorizes the FFC, consistent with antitrust principles, to collect and voluntarily share information about workplace conditions in manufacturing facilities around the globe.
Mr. Langer also spoke about general antitrust concerns that arise when competitors collaborate.
