Wiggin and Dana Welcomes Corporate Partner Joseph Spina
Wiggin and Dana is pleased to welcome Joseph Spina as a partner in the firm’s Corporate Department and M&A practice, resident in the New York office.
Joseph Spina joins the firm from Cullen and Dykman, where he served as co-chair of the private equity and financial sponsors practice, as well as co-chair of the firm’s entrepreneurship through acquisition (ETA) and small and medium-sized business (SMB) group.
Joe represents a broad range of investors—including private equity funds, independent sponsors, and founder-led businesses—advising on strategic transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and transaction structuring. Over the course of his career, he has advised on more than $50 billion in aggregate deal value.
“Joe’s practice dovetails seamlessly with our transactional capabilities across the firm,” said Paul Hughes, Chair of Wiggin and Dana’s Corporate Department. “His experience advising sponsors, founders, and investors across the middle market enhances our ability to meet continued client demand in a dynamic deal environment.”
Joe was drawn to Wiggin and Dana’s collaborative platform and the firm’s Wiggin(x) initiative, which supports lower middle-market transactions and aligns closely with his ETA-focused practice. He expects continued growth in ETA and sponsor-led activity, particularly within the lower middle market.
His arrival reflects the firm’s ongoing investment in its corporate practice, as Wiggin and Dana continues to expand its capabilities to serve growth-stage companies, sponsors, and strategic investors.
