As suggested by the clever cartoon below, a lot of people had a good laugh earlier this year when the media reported that Ashley Pelman and Jazlen Bradley, two overweight New York teenagers, had sued McDonald’s for their obesity and related health problems. Both girls alleged that they had purchased and consumed Happy Meals and/or Big Macs “on average of three to four times per week from the ages of 5 through twelve.” When the case was initially dismissed last January, most observers thought that justice had been done.
