Matthew is a Partner in Wiggin and Danaโ€™s Litigation Department and Co-chair of the firmโ€™s Manufacturing Industry Practice Group. He has extensive experience resolving manufacturing and supplier disputes through mediation, arbitration, and where necessary, trial.

Matthew has represented manufacturing clients in the aerospace, industrial, maritime, heavy chemicals, pharmaceutical, and agricultural industries. Heย has tried to verdict multimillion-dollar jury and courtside manufacturing claims. Among his successes, Matthew has secured injunctive relief before an arbitration panel of retired Court of Appeals Judges from the Second and Third Circuits and a Delaware Supreme Court Justice.

Matthew regularly counsels clients on real estate disputes, including representation of title company insureds, companies, private homeowners, andย affordable housing projects. His probate litigation experience includes representing health care providers and individuals in conservator claims, will contests, and capacity- and fiduciary-related disputes. Matthew is also an appointed Special Public Defender in the part A criminal court, handling matters pro bono.

Matthew was named a New Leader in the Law by the Connecticut Law Tribune, was recognized by Chambers USA in the category of litigation lawyers, and was selected by New England Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” in general litigation. He is a former member of the Inn of Court in New Haven, a former board member for Family Centered Services of CT, and a graduate of the New Haven Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program. Matthew also served as Co-chair of the New Haven County Bar Association’s Nuts and Bolts Committee, which provides seminars for newly admitted lawyers.

Matthew received his J.D. magna cum laude from the Quinnipiac University School of Law, where he was a Dean’s Scholar and a recipient of the Distinguished Academic Achievement Award and the Classroom Performance Award. He earned his B.A. in History and Latin from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
